About the work
Immer eine mehr als du (roughly: Always one more than you) is a play about two sisters by Lina Wegner (Lina-Marieke Wegner), who works as an assistant director at Schauspiel Leipzig. She directed the world premiere of her text herself; it opened on 29 May 2026 in Foyer 1 of Schauspiel Leipzig, with two actresses playing Ava and Emmi.
Plot
Ava and Emmi have shared everything since childhood, and both want to take a stand against injustice in the world. When Ava, the elder, leaves for another city to study, the two live apart for the first time, and the physical move goes hand in hand with a growing inner distance from her younger sister Emmi. The play asks whether the sisters still pull together politically and what connects them beyond their shared childhood memories.
Cultural significance
The text links sibling love and the process of breaking away in early adulthood with the question of shared activism. After its first run in early summer 2026, the production was revived in September 2026; no reviews, published edition or further productions could be traced up to that point.
