Biography
Wolfram Höll was born in Leipzig in 1986 and studied literary writing at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel and theatre at the Bern University of the Arts. Alongside his plays he writes radio dramas and works as a radio drama director. His play “Und dann” opened at Schauspiel Leipzig in October 2013, directed by Claudia Bauer, and won the Mülheim Drama Prize in 2014; he received the prize a second time in 2016 for “Drei sind wir”, which Thirza Bruncken had premiered in Leipzig in February of that year. Further honours include the drama prize of the Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft (2015) and the Literature Prize of the Canton of Bern. “Disko” (February 2019) and “Niederwald” (December 2023, directed by Elsa-Sophie Jach) also premiered at Schauspiel Leipzig. His plays are published by Suhrkamp Theater Verlag, and “Niederwald” also appeared as a book from Suhrkamp in 2024.
