Biography
Wannie de Wijn, born in 1961, trained at the drama school in Arnhem. He was a permanent ensemble member at Theater van het Oosten and at Toneelgroep De Appel, for which he also wrote and directed several plays. On Dutch television he appeared in series including Vuurzee, Keyzer & De Boer Advocaten and Unit 13. He directed the premiere of his own tragicomedy De goede dood, about a terminally ill man's last evening before euthanasia, in 2008; the production won the Toneel Publieksprijs, and in 2012 he turned the play into a feature film. His other plays include Amateurs! (2009), and he also works as a drama teacher.
