Biography
Sören Hornung was born in 1989 in Berlin and completed a directing degree at the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst Baden-Württemberg in 2016. In 2012 he co-founded the collective Kollektiv Eins with Paula Thielecke, and in 2021 the project "Künstlerische Intelligenz" together with Hannes Hartmann and Janek Liebetruth. He has worked as an author and director in German-language theatre since 2008; his plays "Sieben Geister" (2018) and "Arche Noa. Das Ende vom Schluss" (2020) each received the Chemnitz Theatre Prize for young drama, and further works were nominated for the Heidelberg Stückemarkt author's prize and the Osnabrück playwrights' prize. His texts have been created for, among others, Schauspiel Frankfurt, the Mecklenburg State Theatre and Volkstheater Rostock.
