Biography

Olga Bach was born in Berlin in 1990 and studied philosophy and German philology at the Freie Universität Berlin and in Istanbul, followed by law at the Humboldt University. While still a law student she wrote “Die Vernichtung”, premiered by Ersan Mondtag at Konzert Theater Bern in 2016: the production was invited to the Berlin Theatertreffen in 2017, the play was nominated for the Mülheim Dramatists' Prize, and the magazine “Theater heute” named Bach young playwright of the year. Further works with Mondtag followed, among them “Das Erbe” (Münchner Kammerspiele, 2017), “Kaspar Hauser und Söhne” (Theater Basel) and the collaborative project “Joy of Life” (HAU Berlin, 2021); for the RambaZamba Theater she wrote “Die Frauen vom Meer” (2018) after Ibsen, and for the Staatstheater Stuttgart “Im Ferienlager” (2025). Her first novel, “Kinder der Stadt”, was published by Kiepenheuer & Witsch in 2023. She completed her legal training with the traineeship at the Berlin Kammergericht. Her courtroom drama “Eine Sache der Auslegung” is announced to premiere at Schauspiel Köln in January 2027.
