Biography

Noam Brusilovsky was born in Haifa in 1989 and works as a freelance writer and director for stage and radio. After attending the Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, he studied theatre directing at the Ernst Busch University of Performing Arts in Berlin, where his graduation production, the solo performance “Orchiektomie rechts”, opened in December 2017. Alongside this he made radio plays for SWR, Deutschlandfunk, rbb and WDR; he won the ARD German Radio Play Prize twice, in 2017 for “Broken German” after Tomer Gardi’s novel and in 2021 together with Ofer Waldman for “Adolf Eichmann: Ein Hörprozess”, followed by the Prix Italia in 2024 for “Exzess (Eine Techno-Oper)”. His theatre projects have been staged at the Residenztheater and the Volkstheater in Munich, Konzerttheater Bern, the Sophiensaele in Berlin, Schauspiel Stuttgart and Stadttheater Klagenfurt, where “Nicht sehen” received the special award of the Nestroy Theatre Prize in 2022. In January 2026 his monologue “Fake Jews” opened at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, with Brusilovsky as both author and director. He has taught at institutions including the Ernst Busch University, the Mozarteum, Bard College Berlin and the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre.
