Biography
Nasi Voutsas is a Greek theatre maker and performer working in the United Kingdom. Since 2015 he and the Frenchman Bertrand Lesca, whom he met in Scotland, have formed the duo Bert & Nasi, whose work combines theatre, live art, dance and clowning and approaches political subjects with humour and direct contact with the audience. Their trilogy of “Eurohouse”, “Palmyra” and “One” deals with Greece's relationship with the EU, the Syrian crisis and the rise of the far right; “Palmyra” was shown at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe and “One” followed in 2019. In 2020 the duo received the Forced Entertainment Award. With Tim Etchells, Voutsas and Lesca wrote and devised “L’Addition”, which they premiered themselves at the Festival d’Avignon in 2023; in German the piece is performed as “Die Rechnung”.
