Biography
Lisa Sommerfeldt was born in Munich in 1976, studied modern German literature, history and philosophy in Berlin and Munich, and trained as an actor at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen from 1998 to 2002. On stage she appeared at Schauspiel Stuttgart and Theater Osnabrück, among others; on television she became known as Esther in the comedy series Pastewka. As a writer she produces plays, radio plays and prose, including many texts for young audiences such as Flaschengeld, Koma and wing.suit as well as commissions for Theater Ulm, Oper Bonn and Theater Altenburg Gera; her plays are represented by S. Fischer Verlag. For the radio play Überleben – Die Kinderoper 'Brundibár' in Theresienstadt she and Felicitas Ott received first prize in the MDR Broadcasting Council's children's radio play award in 2024, and she also won the City of Karlsruhe's children's radio play prize. For the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe she wrote familienalbum, a documentary play for young audiences about the Jewish family of the architect and composer Richard Fuchs, whose premiere is scheduled for September 2026.
