Biography
Lili Roesing was born in Hamburg-Altona in 2003 and as a teenager took part in the performance ensemble Reset and in youth productions at the Thalia Theater. Since 2022 she has been studying dramatic writing at the Berlin University of the Arts. Her play Rückenschwimmen (Backstroke), published by Verlag der Autoren, about a sexual assault and its consequences for a group of girlfriends, received a special prize at the German Children’s and Youth Theatre Award in 2024 and was nominated for the playwrights’ prize of the Heidelberger Stückemarkt in 2026. With ALL MY GIRLS LIKE TO FIGHT she won the Rheingelesen writing competition of the Rheinisches Landestheater Neuss, where the text was given a staged reading in July 2025. For Junges Schauspielhaus Hamburg she is developing the youth play ALPHA with the director Margit Pötzsch, whose premiere is announced for October 2026.
