Biography
Konstantin Dupelius was born in Schorndorf in 1990 and studied piano, jazz piano and music education at the Freiburg University of Music. His compositions include the incidental music for “Nathan der Weise” at Theater Freiburg (2016) and, together with Gustavo Strauß, the opera “1000 Kraniche” for the Salzburg Festival. Since 2018 he has formed the duo OMG Schubert with actor and singer Justus Wilcken, with whom he created several music-theatre evenings at the Zimmertheater Tübingen. Dupelius and Wilcken were nominated for the Faust theatre prize in 2024 for their stage music for “Im Taumel des Zorns”. With “Mondrausch”, a comic opera with an open ending, Dupelius and Wilcken write both music and libretto together for a full-length opera for the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg for the first time.
