Biography
Justus Wilcken was born in 1989 and studied acting at the University Mozarteum Salzburg and singing at the Hanns Eisler University of Music Berlin, graduating in 2018. As an actor and opera singer he has worked at venues including Staatstheater Hannover, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and Schauspiel Stuttgart. Since 2018 he has formed the duo OMG Schubert with pianist and composer Konstantin Dupelius, with whom he created several music-theatre evenings at the Zimmertheater Tübingen. Wilcken and Dupelius were nominated for the Faust theatre prize in 2024 for their stage music for “Im Taumel des Zorns”. With “Mondrausch”, a comic opera with an open ending, Wilcken and Dupelius write both music and libretto together for a full-length opera for the Mainfranken Theater Würzburg for the first time.
