Biography
Jovana Reisinger was born in Munich in 1989 and works as a writer, filmmaker and visual artist. After studying communication design at Munich University of Applied Sciences, she studied screenwriting and later documentary directing at the University of Television and Film Munich. She made her debut in 2017 with the novel „Still halten“ at Verbrecher Verlag, which won the Bayern 2-Wortspiele Prize in 2018; her second novel „Spitzenreiterinnen“ (2021) was nominated for the Bavarian Book Prize. These were followed by the essay novel „Enjoy Schatz“ (2022), whose stage version premiered at the Schaubühne Berlin in 2024 with the author herself in the leading role, and the book „Pleasure“ (2024). Alongside numerous short films and newspaper columns for Vogue and the FAZ, she directed the feature film „Unterwegs im Namen der Kaiserin“, which earned her a Grimme Prize in 2026; she had received the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize in 2023, and in 2026 she read at the Bachmann Prize competition in Klagenfurt.
