Biography
Hannah Zufall was born in Bielefeld in 1987. She studied scenic arts at the University of Hildesheim and performing arts at Aix-Marseille University, and in 2018 received her doctorate in literary studies from Humboldt University in Berlin with a thesis on fairy-tale stagings for adult audiences. From 2012 to 2014 she worked as an assistant director at the Schaubühne in Berlin, including for Thomas Ostermeier and Romeo Castellucci. Her theatre texts include “Weil sie nicht gestorben sind” (2016), “Spätzünder”, “4/5”, “Marschlande” and “Schwarz Rot Golden”, which was nominated for the Grabbe Förderpreis; she also writes audio walks and libretti. She was nominated for the Osnabrück Dramatists’ Prize. For television she co-wrote the second season of the rbb comedy series “Warten auf'n Bus”, and in 2026 she and Oliver Bukowski wrote its stage version with new episodes for the Berliner Ensemble.
