Biography

Danny Robins started doing stand-up comedy as a teenager in his home town of Newcastle upon Tyne. At Bristol University he formed the comedy trio Club Seals with Marcus Brigstocke and Dan Tetsell, whose show We Are History aired on BBC Two in 2000. With Tetsell he wrote the children's series Young Dracula (2006–2014), and with Tetsell and Lenny Henry the radio sitcom Rudy's Rare Records, which was adapted for the stage in 2014. His interest in the supernatural led to the podcast Haunted (2017) and to the series The Battersea Poltergeist (2021), Uncanny (2021, also a BBC Two television series from 2023) and The Witch Farm (2022) for BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. His play 2:22 A Ghost Story opened in London's West End in 2021, was nominated for the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play and won the 2022 WhatsOnStage Award in that category.
