Biography
Carin Pollak is a writer and screenwriter. In her twenties she attended the Journalisthögskolan (school of journalism) and then worked in journalism for about ten years. Together with Kay Pollak and other co-writers she wrote the screenplay for his film “Så som i himmelen” (2004, known in English as “As It Is in Heaven”), which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and with Kay Pollak also the screenplay for the sequel “Så ock på jorden” (2015). For the musical version of “Så som i himmelen”, which premiered at the Oscarsteatern in Stockholm in 2018, she wrote the book with Kay Pollak and the lyrics with the composer Fredrik Kempe. In 2019 she became a member of the Swedish Playwrights' Union (Sveriges Dramatikerförbund).
