Biography
Bertrand Lesca is a French theatre maker and performer working in the United Kingdom. After studying at the University of Warwick, he assisted Peter Brook and Declan Donnellan on international tours. Since 2015 he and the Greek performer Nasi Voutsas, whom he met in Scotland, have worked as the duo Bert & Nasi, creating pieces between theatre, live art, dance and clowning. Their collaboration produced a political trilogy: “Eurohouse” on Greece's relationship with the EU, “Palmyra” (shown at Summerhall during the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe) and “One” (2019); in 2020 the pair received the Forced Entertainment Award. Together with Tim Etchells they wrote and devised “L’Addition”, which premiered with the two of them at the Festival d’Avignon in 2023 and is performed in German as “Die Rechnung”.
